Do You Need a Dumpster Permit in Eau Claire, WI?

The short answer covers most people: on your own driveway or private property, no permit is required anywhere we deliver. The detail below covers the exceptions.

Private property: no permit needed

A driveway, a courtyard, a job site — on private land, you will not normally need a permit for a container, and that covers the large majority of our deliveries across Eau Claire and Eau Claire County.

Public streets: check with the local government

If a container needs to sit on a public street instead, each city or village handles that within its own limits. Inside Eau Claire itself, the City of Eau Claire is the office to confirm a temporary placement permit with. Wisconsin towns handle their own local road matters directly too — a genuine unit of government, not an informal designation — so a town-road placement question goes to that town's own office. For county roads, Eau Claire County government is the authority.

What to expect if a permit is needed
